Troubleshoot Hyper-V Cluster Shared Volume offline and redirected-access problems involving storage paths, cluster health, permissions and networking.
01

Check cluster state

Use Get-ClusterSharedVolume and Get-ClusterGroup to identify the affected volume and owner node.

02

Check disk and path health

Review Failover Clustering events and storage path status. Confirm all nodes see the underlying storage consistently.

03

Check redirected access

If the CSV enters redirected mode, determine whether the cause is maintenance, storage connectivity or a cluster condition.

04

Check cluster networking

Validate the CSV and cluster networks, DNS resolution and packet loss between nodes.

05

Review storage events

Correlate cluster events with SAN, iSCSI, FC or storage-array events. Do not repeatedly move ownership without identifying the underlying fault.

06

Recovery

After storage and cluster health are restored, return the CSV to normal access and validate all affected VMs.
